AIRLINES: U.S. Carriers Post Best On-Time Numbers
1/8/2010 -
Last November, U.S. airlines posted record on-time arrival numbers, with 88.6 percent of flights arriving as scheduled. That’s the best performance since September 2002, according to federal regulators, and it eclipsed the 77.3 percent posted in November 2008. Hawaiian, United, and Southwest posted the best records, while Atlantic Southeast, AirTran, and Comair had the worst performances.
The flight attendants at United Airlines have begun global protests to highlight the fact that talks with management have stalled over a new contract. Negotiations began last spring, and federal mediators who joined the talks last August have failed to move the discussions forward. Comments
